Bogarting The God
I think presidential contender Mike Huckabee's got some explaining to do...
Recently Huckabee said on national television "I didn't major in math, I majored in miracles."
Excuse me? Got Christ Complex? Last time I checked that field is the supreme domain of the chosen one, AKA "Jesus," for those of you who believe.
If I was John McCain I'd be pretty pissed that Huckabee is bogarting the God. As an American citizen, I'm pretty scared. It's one thing to claim you're a true conservative or even the true Christian evangelical in this race, but it's quite another to imply you are the candidate with unique access to the deity (or in this case, assuming deity-like traits).
What an ego, what a scary guy.

Another Repo with a direct line to his god. What a surprise!! Huckabee has been the scariest from the word "go". Just waitin for armegeddon.
Did you get your Christmas tree down yet?
You mean that there isn't a red phone under glass in the Oval Office for such direct communication with Him.
Sybil,
I can't speak for Kaos, but Christmas trees aren't very Green. A long path of carbon footprints for God never seems to break into mantra of Hippie Greenstockings. Maybe just maybe if a lot of people stopped cutting down trees for Him we could save the planet.
That would be rude.
Did you get your Christmas tree down yet? Some people call it a Holiday Tree and view it entirely as a secular ambience kind of thing. Many of my friends feel this way, even those who are Jewish and who have trees during the holidays because they "like the lights."
Many traditions are rooted in practices co-opted from other religions/beliefs. Many Roman gods were bogarted from the Greeks, for example. Our English language is loaded with Romance root words ("Romance" meaning Roman in origin, not the silly-love-infused gobbledy-gook meaning). So, I have no problem with nonbelievers displaying trees during the holidays.
If you mulch it afterwards, isn't that Green, monkey?
Why cut it down in the first place?
I think it has something to do with getting it into the house, you Druid. I plant to replace it each spring, even donating money to growers to replace those cut with 7 other trees.
Why drive anywhere? Walking is so much greener. I walk and use other forms of recreation/transportation that are 100% green instead of driving more than anyone I know.
Here's an idea.
Plant one every year, not to replace one that's cut down, but one to use for you celebrations each year.
That way you can watch them wither and die in perfect synchronization with your faith.
