Stepping up...

So in the game of lacrosse there is this little thing called a Braveheart. This occasionally occurs when a game ends in a tie. (Usually in a championship game where ties must be decided.) The tie breaker consists of one goalie and one other player from each team going head to head using the full field to break the tie with the first goal scored.

A lot of pressure for a young player to accept. The coaches almost turned their backs as not to even catch a glimpse as a Braveheart is completely out of their control.

Our team's choice accepted the challenge with grace and a fair amount of fear. Four and a half minutes of hard running, hard hitting and hard knocks left one player standing in victory and the other literally on his knees in defeat.

Both teams rushed the field at the conclusion and carried their players off the field on their shoulders with pride and respect.

Big fucking balls and class for a bunch of kids.
